Directions for hanging artwork

  • If y'all're picture has 2 hooks (without a wire) on the back, follow this tutorial. If you're working with a single claw, or a wire, keep reading.
  • Plow your frame over and apply your measuring tape to measure the height of the film from the back. My  fine art  is  24″
  • Carve up this number past 2. In my example, the respond is 12″
  • Observe the altitude between the pinnacle of the picture and the picture hanging hardware. Mine measured six.5″ from the wire to the acme of the frame.

Tip: Take this measurement from the behind of the frame. Also, if y'all accept a hanging wire, pull it taught. You lot want the measurement based on how high/taught the wire volition be when information technology'due south hung on the wall.

  • Subtract that number from the number you got when you divided the frame height by ii. In this case, the distance from the top of the frame to the hardware is vi.5 inches. When I divided the height of the frame by 2, I got 12. And then, 12″ – 6.5″ = v.5″.
  • Add together lx to the deviation. In my case, lx″ + 5.5″ = 65.5″  So, I will install the nail at 65.5″.
